Saturdays league fixture against Milngavie Wanderers who won promotion alongside YM became even more important following the midweek loss and things started badly for YM when a short pass back was pounced on by a Milngavie forward to score inside the first minute. YM replied with great determination and for long spells peppered the Milngavie goal but there was always a defender there to clear the lines. Eventually YM made the breakthrough after good work from Mikey Carroll got him into the box and squared for David Kneale to equalise from close range. Ross McDonagh’s forceful play earned YM a corner which was taken short with Craig Fry laying the ball back to the 18 yard line for Cammy McCulloch to score with an astute shot . YM’s hard work was undone yet again when following a long throw in Milngavie scored to square the match .Approaching halftime Craig Fry and David Kneale took another short corner and Ross McDonagh headed in Kneale’s cross then Jordan Calder headed in Kneale’s next corner to put YM 4-2 in front at the break. On the resumption Milngavie scored again following more indecision in defence from YM and it was late in the game when the referee adjudged the Milngavie keeper handled a pass back and Cammy McCulloch scored from Kneale’s free kick. In the closing stages Connor McCann ran on to a through ball from Cammy McCulloch to score YM’S sixth goal and ensure the three points.
