Two goals from Ross McDonagh and one from David Cameron (a superb shot that floated over the keeper from near the halfway line ) gave YM a 3-1 victory over Possill YM and on Saturday they turned in an excellent performance to defeat Blantyre RGm 5-2.

Jordan White opened the scoring early in the first half netting James Cameron’s low cross. Blantyre hit back and YM keeper Fraser Campbell did well to hold on to a 20 yard free kick but in Blantyre’s next attack they equalised .

Both teams showed great enthusiasm for the match and the spectators were well entertained. On the half hour keeper Campbell’s long kick out was turned wide left by Jordan White and full back Scott Cairns was at full speed as he turned the ball across to Cammy McCulloch who stroked home at the near post. Early in the second half Craig Tocher outstripped the Blantyre defence before laying off in the path on inrushing James Cameron who had a simple tap in to put YM 3-1 in front. Tocher was involved in the fourth goal as once again his pace carried him away from defenders and when his shot struck the upright and ws hacked off the line by a defender White reacted quickly to turn the ball into the path of James Cameron who made no mistake from close range. Connor McCann ,last season’s leading scorer returned from holiday and soon was on the score sheet adding YM’s fifth goal and with the last kick of the game Blantyre grabbed a second goal.
