YMs Caledonian League side ,albeit depleted because of holidays, got a taste of what life will be like in the Caledonian Premier this coming season when Ayrshire Premier side Crosshouse Waverly visited for the first of the pre season friendlies.
YM took the lead when Jordan White headed in Craig Tocher’s corner with barely one minute on the clock. Crosshouse dominated for spells after the initial set back taking the lead with two goals in a minute to punish YM’s sloppy defending on the half hour mark. YM replied through a Cammy McCulloch free kick which the keeper could not hold and Liam Sloan lashed in the equaliser. Mikey Carroll restored YM’s lead in the second half running on to Ryan Kelly’s through ball and beating the keeper with a shot from the edge of the area. Crosshouse pushed for a late equaliser and got their reward with ninety seconds left to bring a thoroughly entertaining game to an end.
