EK YMs Caledonian league side progressed to the fourth round of the West of Scotland Amateur Cup with a far from impressive 3-2 victory over Crosslands United.
The strong winds and driving rain made life difficult for both sides at the Ballerup 3g facility and YM will be glad to accept victory and move on.
Crosslands were the better side in the opening fifteen minutes keeping YMs back four on their toes. Gradually YM began to exert some influence on proceedings and following a corner kick from Alan McCrae the ball was cleared out
the box. Alan Paterson gained posession, found McCrae wide right and his cross found Craig Duncan whose brave diving header found the net .
The goal gave YM renewed vigour and shortly after they doubled their lead when Paul McCann sent a glorious ball down the left wing for Ross Campbell to run on to. He skinned the full back and laid the ball off for YM veteran David Wade to confidently stroke into the corner of the net.
Crosslands replied just before the interval when a free kick into the box was met by centre forward Donohoe whose shot found the net.
The second half was pretty even till Ross Campbell raced clear beating a central defender on his way before driving the ball past the keeper into the net for YMs third goal.
In injury time Crosslands scored a controversial goal as the ball had been cleared by a YM defender. The ball hit a Crosslands forward and rebounded into the path of another forward who chipped the ball into the net. YM managed to see out the injury time to secure a fourth round tie at home to Ardeer Rovers or Strathclyde University .
